Software Creates Greater Colour Scanning Quality
Itek Colour Graphics (ICG), the high-end scanner manufacturer has launched Scanxact XI, a new version of the company's Scanxact drum scanner software.
The ICG range includes anti-static cleaning solutions to ensure clean scanner drums and dust free flatbed scanning surfaces.
Also included is an air gun that ionises the surrounding air in order to dissipate charged particles.
The range also includes anti-static gloves, cleaning solutions and anti-static brush film cleaners.
ICG director Ian Smith said: "Our anti-static range brings to our portfolio a line of superior products that work well in tandem with our drum scanner range.
They equip the user with huge advantages, drastically cutting the time it takes to remove dust from negatives and transparencies and also reducing the amount of digital retouching required." In the company's opinion, people are beginning to appreciate the drawbacks that can occur as a result of using dust removal software products.
The drawbacks include time penalties and the possibility of removing detail.
ICG's anti-static range is claimed to leave film and scanning surfaces spotlessly clean prior to scanning, resulting in fewer drawbacks and increased time savings.
