ICG's in-depth colour experience has always stemmed from the formation of the ICG colour engine.

The concept of this engine was created by a team of colour scientists within ICG who foresaw the need to create a system that would simplify the process of colour separation without the loss of quality.

Alongside this was the need to standardise the colour space and at that time Apple and ICC introduced a standard colour space (CieLab) for use throughout the world.

To enable CieLab to be used, the spectrophotometer has become the basic tool of use.

ICG's Kaleidoscope product suite is ICG's cohesive answer for effectively utilising CieLab, providing all the tools for creating a complete colour management solution.

The Kaleidoscope product suite is lead by the Colour Palette Sprectro 50xy.

The Colour Palette is an automatic measuring instrument for both reflection and transmission made to create ICC profiles.

Alongside it is the handheld Colour Sleuth Densitometer which is said to be in a class of its own.

It not only measures and displays colour values separately, but also calculates deviations against reference values which have previously been stored.

This fine hi-tech instrument makes immediate process control possible and becomes a must for any user who wishes to take the process of calibration seriously.

The Colour Eye is a screen sensor device that works in conjunction with ICG's colour management software package Profile-Xpert.

To enable all the hardware to become one cohesive unit the Profile-Xpert software package contains all the drivers and sophisticated routines to enable the user to produce the high standard of ICC profile that is needed in this very discerning world of colour reproduction.

The Colour Eye is designed to calibrate and profile any type of display (CRT or LCD).

Users can set the white point to a standard value, or a wide range of Kelvin values, or just measure a viewing light and calibrate to it.

A wide range of gammas is supported.

After the profile is created, resulting curves show the display calibration and provide the option for additional adjustment.
