ICSM added that it has taken those steps in response to a substantial increase in debt recovery work in the past six months, especially of cases that require a high level of litigious expertise.
According to ICSM's debt recovery manager, Andy Allies: "In the past legal costs were prohibitive to clients who wished to sue their debtors, primarily because of the difficulty in finding solicitors who specialised in debt recovery work and it was difficult for them to justify an outgoing that offered such tenuous returns.
As a result many clients have lost out.
We expect that access to specialist legal expertise from dedicated litigation solicitors will increase the likelihood of successful recovery for our members, without substantially increasing the cost of the service".
The new service will be available from ICSM from January 29 onwards.
