With just over a year to go before Ipex 2006, IIR Exhibitions, the organiser of the event has announced that 18 per cent of confirmed exhibitors are appearing at an Ipex event for the first time.
What IIR described as the major influx of new blood demonstrates the fast changing nature of the print and graphic arts market and should ensure visitors are bound to discover new contacts and opportunities believes the show's organiser.
The type of first-time exhibitors at Ipex 2006, covers a good cross-section of businesses from across the entire print workflow.
Most significant is the increase in the companies from converting, mailing equipment suppliers and paper companies, said IIR.
Bielomatik of Germany, for example, produces converting machinery and will be showing RFID labelling technology, whilst PFE International manufactures mailroom technology and GF Smith supplies paper to the design and print industry in many permutations of weight, colour and texture.
Exhibition director, Trevor Crawford said: "Eight-five per cent of available space has already been sold, which highlights buoyant market conditions and optimism for the future.
Of the 300 exhibitors committed so far, 18 per cent of them are new to Ipex, with the majority coming from outside of the UK." He added: "We've been working hard to ensure that the Ipex exhibitor base is a true reflection of the industry today to enable visitors from all print businesses to get the most out of their time at Ipex 2006." First time German exhibitor, Tom Clausager, from Printec, said: "Ipex 2006 is the number one global print show next year and as a leader in printing blankets, we want to showcase our products in the best way possible to the right people.
Investing in Ipex gives us the opportunity to meet potential customers from across the globe that we almost certainly would not have had contact with otherwise.
We've just opened a new production plant in Brazil to increase our capacity by 80 per cent so we're keen to use Ipex to capitalise on this audience and launch new developments to the market.
We're really looking forward to a vibrant dynamic event." And Trevor Crawford was keen to emphasise: "Innovation is our mantra for Ipex 2006 and we're on course to ensure the event surpasses all exhibitor and visitor expectations.
Exhibitors recognise that visitors to Ipex 2006 will be looking to add value and grow their existing businesses through investing in the latest equipment, products and services." Other exhibitors taking a stand for the first time include Goss Graphic Systems, Kern, Masterwork Graphic Equipment, Pitney Bowes and Scheffer Web Finishing.
Ipex 2006 will be staged in the UK from April 4-11 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), near Birmingham.
