IIR Exhibitions, the organiser of Ipex 2006, has announced a new visitor attraction for the show, Innov8, which will encompass all aspects of Ipex 2006, centred on the theme of innovation.

IIR Exhibitions, the organiser of Ipex 2006, has announced a new visitor attraction for the show, Innov8, which will encompass all aspects of Ipex 2006, centred on the theme of innovation.

The organiser said the aim of Innov8 is to spark ideas, provoke creativity and inspire visitors.

Innov8 is a 200-seat purpose built theatre, located on the show floor adjacent to hall nine, which will host a spectacular daily programme of keynote addresses, briefings, presentations and debates charting the future course of the graphic arts industry, supported by real life examples of creative solutions.

Keynote speeches by eminent print business leaders, such as Bernhard Schreier, the chief exeuctive officer of Heidelberg and Antonio M Perez, chief exeuctive officer and president of Kodak, will provide an insight in to their views on the future shape of the industry.

Key industry bodies such as the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) the Federation of the Periodical Press (FIPP) and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) will lead sector overviews, essential for those looking at new opportunities and future strategies.

A global steering committee has shaped the content of Innov8 to ensure that the speaker programme delivers inspiration and information.

Sessions last a maximum of 45-minutes and are free of charge for visitors to attend.

Topics covered during the week include emerging applications, developments and new technologies, opportunities for businesses, strategy and best practice.

IIR said that the sessions will be a hotbed of ground breaking technology, original thinking and fresh business opportunities.

Each day will focus on different countries and different sectors.

In the morning, overseas visitors are provided with a welcome overview on what to see and do at the exhibition.

Each day turns its attention to a specific sector of the market, for example, April 5's sessions will concentrate on publishing and on April 6 sessions will centre on packaging, whilst and April 9 will focus primarily on SMEs.

With the spotlight fixed on innovation, visitors will get the inside track on making their businesses more profitable.

Heidelberg, HP, MAN Roland and Xerox are already confirmed as sponsors of the theatre.

Jim Todd, sales director of Heidelberg said: "We're delighted to be involved with Innov8, which will play host to such a varied daily programme.

The concept has been designed with visitors in mind and will be a huge attraction at the exhibition." Trevor Crawford, exhibition director of Ipex 2006 added: "Over the last two years we have had the opportunity to consult the industry to find out what they really want from an exhibition.

The Innov8 programme is a dynamic, interactive ideas exchange, providing real value to every printer's visit, catering for all needs and interests.

It's been compiled with the aim of demonstrating innovation to visitors and informing them of key industry issues.

We've invested heavily in a number of new initiatives at Ipex 2006, where visitors will be inspired, where they will better interpret the Ipex experience and raise the bar for innovation." The full Innov8 programme will be available in October.

For more information about Innov8, including the international days and industry themes and to book a place, people can visit the Ipex website.

Ipex 2006 will take place from April 4-11 April 2006 at the NEC in Birmingham (UK).

Visitors can also pre-register for free entrance to the show at the Ipex 2006 website.
