Integrated Packaging goes direct to CTP, installs Artpro and Nexus workflow systems

Integrated Packaging in Newcastle has installed ArtPro and Nexus workflow systems from Artwork Systems in Redditch, as part of a move into CTP production In addition to Artwork Systems NexusImport, NexusProcessor and a NexusRIP, the company has invested in an Agfa Xcaliber B1 CTP line, outputting Thermostar thermal plates for its two six-colour Komori Lithrone presses

?We had all our films produced outside because we did not have imagesetters on site, yet could see that CTP was the way to go forward,? said studio manager Godfrey Burn.

It was obvious that changing to CTP production was going to be difficult, but the thing that gave us the confidence to go ahead was the support and help from Artwork Systems.

?The key to it all was training and Artwork Systems has been fantastic in getting our staff up and running.

The ArtPro software has proved to be excellent.

The high level of automation makes it easy to use and extremely productive.

If we have a problem with a job we can send the complete file to Artwork Systems via ISDN for their experts to check.

It's an exciting time for the company,? said Godfrey Burn.

?The installation of the new Komori, the CTP line and the ArtPro and Nexus workflow systems has gone very smoothly and allowed us to improve our quality control, productivity and response time,? he added.
