Imaje has added a new printer to its Imaje 2000 Series, the new Imaje 2000 Pallet, due to be launched in the UK in the spring.

Imaje has added a new printer to its Imaje 2000 Series, the new Imaje 2000 Pallet, due to be launched in the UK in the spring.

The 2000 Pallet is said to combine the versatility of the Imaje 2000 print and apply labellers with the durability of the MP6000, which was previously sold under the Markpoint brand.

Steve Ellison, Imaje UK's operations manager, commented: "Logistics is a demanding environment where printers are in continuous use, often in harsh conditions.

Productivity has to be kept at maximum levels, therefore reliability, speed and ease of use are paramount.

Having already won two design awards, the Imaje 2000 Series has proved itself a worthy contender in the print and apply arena and adopting this design for the Imaje 2000 Pallet made perfect sense.

It has created a pallet labeller that is flexible, easy to use and simple to install." The Imaje Pallet has already undergone field-testing by a global organisation in the UK prior to launch, resulting in forward orders, said Imaje.

With a choice of right or left applicator versions, the Imaje 2000 Pallet can print and apply labels on to one or two adjacent sides of a pallet in one operation.

The print engine is available in thermal transfer printing for long life labels, or direct thermal printing for short duration labelling.

With a claimed print resolution of up to 300 dots per inch (dpi) the Imaje 2000 Pallet is said to offer 100 per cent barcode legibility with GS1 label requirements.

An optional built-in barcode reader is available to provide automatic checking of the printed code after label application.

The printer supports 16 scalable fonts, most graphic formats and linear barcodes, as well as 2D barcodes.

It is compatible with any Windows-based label editing software, as well as bespoke software applications, enabling users to combine text barcodes with imported images, added Imaje.

The system's interface enables fast downloads of information, whilst network integration is achieved via an Ethernet port.

With built-in safety features, including automatic applicator shut-off, emergency stop button and optional floor stand with docking station, operator security is further enhanced, said the company.
