Intelicoat Technologies, the manufacturer of coated paper, film and speciality substrates for imaging and electronic technologies, has launched its new GFphoto designed for solvent ink-jet printers.

Part of the Magic range, GFphoto is claimed to be a quick-drying six-mil glossy photo base paper formulated to work with the latest generation of solvent ink jet printers manufactured by Raster Arizona, Mimaki, Mutoh and DGI.

Intelicoat believes that it is one of the first solvent ink jet glossy photo base products available on the market and is cost-effective for printing short-term, high resolution glossy graphics and posters on a solvent-based system.

The company said that along with its quick-drying property, GFphoto's specialised coating offers a high degree of whiteness and colour gamut, and an extremely smooth surface for high photographic resolution.

"We developed GFphoto in response to the growing need for more variety of solvent ink jet media options.

We are pleased to be one of the first to market with a solvent ink jet glossy photo paper, and believe that this is the type of solution that print providers have been looking for to help them grow their businesses," said Frans Craandijk, sales and marketing director at Intelicoat.

To optimise the output on GFphoto, Intelicoat offers ICC color profiles for selected RIP, ink and printer combinations.

Magic GFphoto is available in numerous sizes, from 91cm x 30.5 metres through to 152cm x 30.5 metres.
