Intelicoat Technologies' Magic GFphoto photographic paper for solvent ink jet printers was named media product of the year by the Digital Printing and Imaging Association (DPI).

Intelicoat Technologies' Magic GFphoto photographic paper for solvent ink jet printers was named media product of the year by the Digital Printing and Imaging Association (DPI).

The DPI Product of the Year Award Competition honours those digital imaging products that have a beneficial impact on the industry.

The award was announced at the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) trade show, held in conjunction with the DPI Conference, which took place in Minneapolis (USA).

Magic GFphoto is a solvent ink jet-compatible 6mm glossy photo-realistic paper for gloss posters and displays.

Its coating is claimed to offer a high degree of whiteness and colour gamut with a smooth surface for high photographic resolution.

It is said to be compatible with the latest generation of solvent ink jet printers, including those manufactured by Raster Arizona, Mimaki, Mutoh, Vutek and Seiko.

The DPI product of the year award is not the first time that the product has been honoured.

GFphoto helped Mutoh win first place in the solvent ink jet category in the DIMA (Digital Imaging Marketing Association) digital printer shoot-out at the Photo Marketing Association trade show held in the USA earlier this year.

"As one of the pioneering providers of specialty media for solvent ink jet printers, we are pleased to see the value of our products recognised by some of the industry's most notable organisations.

This latest honour provides further validation of our commitment to deliver the high-quality materials our customers need to capitalise on the exciting new digital imaging applications and technologies of today", said Ed McCarron, product manager at Intelicoat Technologies.
