Reducing direct costs for in mould labelling

An Inmould Label Technologies product story

Inmould Label Technologies. have developed an in mould labelling equipment up-grade

The CAP system ( cut and present ) utilises tried and proven technology and can be retrofitted to any IML equipment, the system simply replaces the pre-cut label canister The CAP system can reduce the direct costs of in mould labelling by up to 70% and improve efficiencies.

This may seem to be a bold statement but a written quotation from preferred film printers can confirm the savings and by removing problems from the in mould labelling process, will improve efficiencies.

Example of savings.

A 2 impression 150x150mm square lid tool running on a 7 second cycle over 12 months.

The cost of pre-cut labels with 15 design changes = £197,683.

The cost of labels using the CAP system = £52,116.

Giving a saving of £145,567.

Plus longer run hours, less wasted labels and less scrap.

The CAP system cuts the labels required for each cycle from a roll of pre-printed film, then presents them in exactly the same pick up position for an existing IML robot to collect , as only the labels needed for each cycle are cut and presented at one time, the IML robot only has the task of picking a single label each cycle, by removing any label separation or pick up problems, label thickness can be reduced to 20 microns or less, with no loss to print quality.

This along with a faster printing process and no need to cut, stack and package the finished labels, can dramatically reduce label costs.

The system has a European patent pending and Inmould Label Technologies are looking for companies who wish to use this system under license or buy the technology for their own use.
