Imaging Technology International (iTi), has announced new features to the Automated Data Acquisition Software (ADAS) for the Drop Watcher III analytical ink jet measurement tool.

Imaging Technology International (iTi), an international supplier of ink jet technology and ink jet deposition systems, has announced new features to the Automated Data Acquisition Software (ADAS) for the Drop Watcher III analytical ink jet measurement tool.

Drop Watcher III is said to provide automated, exact and repeatable measurements of ink jet drop formations and flight characteristics of any jet-able fluid from a range of print heads.

The system permits the user to adjust magnification and contrast and it has a strobe delay and pulse width that is user-adjustable for viewing and analysing various stages of a fluid drop formation, said the company.

The ADAS software features a motion profile input which permits complete user-control over camera motion during automated testing.

The input function provides the user with the ability to scan multiple arrays of nozzles within the same print head and the software also includes a 'save image' feature that gives the user a choice for the full camera field of view with measurement values indicated.

Increased precision in the frequency control field allows precise frequency setting down to one hertz and the improved data recording spreadsheet now accommodates up to 1,024 fields for data storage, said iTi.

The ADAS 'nozzle alignment' function automatically re-adjusts the camera position to account for motion profile inaccuracies, such as if the nozzle plate thermally expands.

The new 'frequency sweep' feature allows for all tests to be performed over several different frequencies, it is claimed.

The automated Drop Watcher III is said to eliminate the need for operator intervention and increases production whilst saving time over manual drop-analysis tools.

Those features are claimed to be unique to Drop Watcher III and offer precision, flexibility and reliability in measuring digital jet-able fluids that can be configured to meet custom testing requirements for a variety of industries, said the company.
