Hall 7.3 Stand K9 Visitors to Viscom Paris will have the opportunity to see one of the most recent inkjet developments on the Digital HiRes stand with the Inca range of flatbed printers Throughout the show the company will be demonstrating the new Columbia Turbo

"Capable of printing up to 160 square metres an hour the new Columbia Turbo is the fastest flatbed inkjet printer on the market today and is the first true challenge to screen printing presses," said Digital HiRes director general Carlos Suchowolski Kohn.

"Speed does not come at the expense of print quality, which is excellent, even when the printer is running at maximum output.

The Columbia Turbo meets the needs of companies looking to handle short runs as well as longer print jobs and combines quality and speed with the ability to personalise print jobs with ease.

Like the other printers in the Inca range, it is straightforward to use and delivers a first class result, time after time.

We believe it is a hugely significant launch for the high quality, point-of-sale market producing signage using rigid and flexible display material," added Kohn.

Until now, flatbed digital inkjet machines have been used for short runs and special jobs.

All Inca printers utilise piezo drop-on-demand technology, which provides a range of benefits to the end user.

The Columbia Turbo has a maximum print area of 3.2 metres x 1.6 metres and can print on to rigid substrates up to 40mm thick.

Substrates can include paper and board, wood, textiles, flexible, rigid plastic, glass, corrugated board and foam.

The use of Sericol UV-curable inks, printed directly on to the substrate, is claimed to eliminate many of the finishing processes that are required when using solvent inks on rolls of material such as mounting and sealing.

Each Inca printer is supplied with a Wasatch RIP, which is said to accept all common file formats including Postscript 3, EPS, TIFF and PDF, whether utilising RGB or CMYK.

The Columbia Turbo comes with the latest version 5.1 RIP.

The new printer can be seen in Hall 7.3 on Stand K9 at Viscom.
