In only its fourth year of operation Inca Digital Printers has reported sales for 2003-2004 of £14.2m (20.1m Euros) and a profit of £1m (1.4m Euros).

The performance shows an increase from the £11.3m (16m Euros) sales recorded in the previous 12 months, when profits were £0.3m (0.42 Euros).

Inca's sales were helpd by two new products during 2004, the Spyder and Columbia Turbo and the company expected those machines to help accelerate its growth even more in the coming financial year.

"This has been a good year and the new Spyder and Columbia Turbo have been received with enthusiasm in the industry.

They have really taken flatbed inkjet technology into another league, significantly ahead of our competition and we expect these two products to have a major impact on Incas turnover in our next financial year.

I think the success also emphasises the huge importance of inkjet printing generally throughout a whole range of different industries," said Inca's managing director Bill Baxter.

Since its formation during Drupa 2000 more than 120 Inca flatbed printers have been sold installed worldwide through distributor Sericol.

A growing number of users were ordering a second and even a third machine, confirming the reliability and profit earning capability of the printers added the company.

Since moving to its present Cambridge (UK) site three years ago the company has trebled the area of its manufacturing facility, while recent additions to staff have brought the total number of people it employs up to 120 added the company.
