Inca Digital has welcomed the Duke of Kent to its Cambridge (UK) headquarters.

The Duke of Kent was visiting Inca following the company's success in achieving two Queen's Awards for Enterprise last year.

The two awards - Innovation and International Trade - acknowledge Inca's market progress in digital flatbed printer technology and its success in selling printers around the world, said the company.

Inca, now part of the Dainippon Screen group of companies following its acquisition, was one of only a small number of companies to receive two Queen's Awards last year, out of the 133 businesses given the honour during 2005.

During his visit the Duke of Kent saw demonstrations of the new six-colour Spyder 320+ and the Columbia Turbo flatbed inkjet printers.

Both machines will be on the Fujifilm Sericol stand at Ipex 2006.

Inca managing director Bill Baxter said: "It was a great afternoon for everyone.

His Royal Highness showed a quick grasp of the intricacies of inkjet technology and the manufacturing processes behind the flatbed printers.

He was also keen to speak to the staff who were so importantl in gaining the awards.

It was a fantastic honour to win the Queen's Awards and this visit to Inca was greatly appreciated by everyone here.".
