Already a double Queen's Award winner, Inca Digital has now won business innovation award in the Cambridge Evening News business excellence award 2007.

From a field of contenders drawn from the many technology firms based in and around Cambridge in the UK, Inca Digital scooped the award for its developments, said the company.

The judges commented: "If anyone thinks the print sector is a bit dull compared with other areas of high tech, just take a look at what Inca is doing." The company said it produces the equivalent of Rolls Royce in the world of printers.

Inca's latest printer, the Fastjet, designed for the corrugated packaging market, prints 1.7m x 1.2m boards at the rate of one a second and is already being snapped up in prototype form by customers in Cambridge and mainland Europe, said the company.

Bill Baxter, managing director of Inca Digital, commented: "Many of the UK's best innovators are concentrated in the Cambridge area so it is particularly special to win this award.

We have a great team here and this award recognises its ingenuity and hard work.".
