A new addition to the Spyder 320 range of digital flatbed printers wil be launched by Inca Digital in conjunction with distributor Fujifilm Sericol during Fespa 2007.

Inca will not release details of the new printer until the first day of the show Bill Baxter, managing director of Inca, said: "We are currently undergoing a rapid pace of development and Fespa is the perfect launch pad for the new Spyder model, which we expect will create quite a stir in the industry." The launch will follow the April introduction of the Inca Onset, which is claimed to be the world's fastest digital flatbed printer

Although the Inca Onset will not be at Fespa, because the first unit will have already been delivered to a customer in the UK, it will be shown in high-speed action on a video wall on the Fujifilm Sericol stand - A210 - supported by a range of samples to show its capabilities, said Inca.

The company added that the Spyder 320 and Columbia Turbo will be demonstrated on the Fujifilm Sericol stand printing a range of products using Uvijet ink technology.

Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet inks are said to provide an ultra-wide gamut using automotive grade pigments with the highest light fastness rating to ensure print longevity.

The result is claimed to be a range of inks that provide the widest colour gamut and the highest quality on a broad range of substrates.

Inca said that flexibility has contributed to the popularity of the Spyder 320 product line.

Since May 2004, Inca Digital has introduced a number of Spyder 320 digital flatbed printer models, including the original four-colour Spyder 320, the low-cost alternative - Spyder 320-e, Spyder 320+ white and six colour versions.

There is also the Spyder 320-8 series was launched at ISA in April.

The modular design of the Spyder 320 range is said to allow users to select and adapt the specification of their Inca Spyder printers to suit their business needs or growth plans.

It is claimed that the latest edition to be launched at Fespa will add more flexibility.

Alongside the Inca Spyder, Inca Digital and Fujifilm Sericol will showcase the Inca Columbia Turbo.

First launched in 2004 the printer was (until the introduction of the Inca Onset printer), the world's fastest digital UV flatbed printer.

The Columbia Turbo prints on to rigid or flexible material up to 40mm (1.57") thick and 3.2m x 1.6m (126" x 63") in size, producing repeatable results at claimed speeds up to 160 square metres per hour (1,720 square feet per hour).

It is also said to be suitable for a range of applications, including large format advertising, signage and exhibition graphics printing.
