Inca's Latest Digital UV Inkjet Printers At Drupa
The flexibility of three different digital UV inkjet printing systems, including what is said to be the world's fastest UV flatbed printer, will be exhibited by Inca Digital Printers at Drupa 2008.
Inca Digital said it will also be displaying inkjet printers developed for high-volume wide format display and corrugated packaging applications.
The company will highlight the Onset, Spyder 320 and a single pass full colour corrugated board printer, the Fastjet.
Inca will be based at the Screen stand during Drupa 2008 - stand A62 in hall 8b.
Inca's flatbed printers, which are also distributed by Fujifilm, will also appear on that company's stand in hall 8b - stand A25 - at the show.
The Onset is a fully-automated digital UV flatbed printer, which was introduced last year.
Inca said that the response from the market has been so high that the company's machine production has been increased to meet demand.
Seven of the systems have already been installed in Europe, USA and Canada at companies needing high-volume production, including SP Group (UK), Holland and Crosby, and C2 Media (USA) as well as Graphic World (The Netherlands).
Inca Digital said that the Onset has a throughput of up to 500 square metres per hour (5,382 square feet per hour).
At Drupa '08 the latest eight-colour Inca Spyder 320 printer will be demonstrated, which features the results produced by the new Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet Ultratone enhanced colour set, developed specifically for the machine.
The Spyder 320 range uses Inca proprietary print modules and a four-colour, six-colour, or eight-colour configurations are available, as well as an entry level model and a white ink option.
The Sun Chemical Fastjet printer, which will be seen in hall 6 on stand B75 at Drupa, was developed in partnership with Inca.
The Fastjet is a single pass, fixed head UV inkjet printer designed to print corrugated board sheets in full colour at high speeds, said the company.
First shown in its pre-prototype version at Drupa 2004, it is a joint development between Sun Chemical and Inca Digital.
The Fastjet is claimed to be another first of its kind for Inca, which produces short run and medium run flexographic print work for transit and shelf-ready packaging.
The printer features an Inca designed printhead configuration to achieve a speed advantage.
The printhead array prints a width of 1,040mm (41") at a claimed resolution of 300 dots per inch (dpi) x 200dpi in less than one second per square metre.
As a result, the Fastjet is said to print at a rate of up to 6,000 square metres per hour on corrugated substrates of up to 1.7 metres long.
Sun Chemical is organising twice daily trips from Drupa fopr visitors to see the first Fastjet customer installation in Germany.
Bill Baxter, the managing director of Inca Digital, said: "As a specialist inkjet engineering company we work with partners, such as Fujifilm Sericol, Screen and Sun Chemical to bring innovative printing systems to market.
The speed and quality of inkjet print is at the point where many pioneering products are now commercially viable and there's no doubt that this Drupa will mark a significant milestone in the evolution of inkjet technology.".
