An Independent Paper plc product story

Independent Paper has ensured that its flagship coated product hits all the right notes by signing up seven young musicians to feature in a brochure promoting the range.

Independent Paper has ensured that its flagship coated product hits all the right notes by signing up seven young musicians to feature in a brochure promoting the range.

The UK firm has adopted a musical theme for many of its product ranges but this time, the company decided to go one step further by asking students at the Royal Academy of Music to act as models for a photo shoot for its Amadeus paper brand brochure.

Paul Cassidy, product manager of Independent Paper, said: "The concept of this brochure is that it simply emulates the perfect partnership of the paper and print with the natural pairing of musicians and their instruments to show off the qualities of the Amadeus range.

The images are brought to life by a range of print finishes.

We are delighted with the results.

The Amadeus range enhances the imagery, giving sharp colours and adding vitality to the print.

The ink and the paper work harmoniously together, just like the musicians with their instruments.

The students enjoyed the photo shoot and have included the photos in their own personal portfolios.

Cellist Rhian Porter, who began playing the violin when she was three and switched to the cello at eight-years-old, said: "I loved being made up and everything.

Now in her final year of a four-year course at the Royal Academy, Rhian (22), who comes from Neath (Wales) likes a variety of musical styles and hopes to be able to do session work and play chamber music when she graduates.

Along with other members of the Academy's orchestra, including Lauren Weavers who also took part in the Independent Paper photoshoot.

Rhian has already achieved musical high notes that many other musicians can only dream about.

Rhian and Lauren toured with Elton John last summer with performances at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, Wembley Stadium and the prestigious Royal Albert Hall.

Rhian said: "It was amazing.

It just seemed unreal.

He came and talked to us all and was really nice.

Lauren (21), who lives in Bromley, was equally delighted by the experience.

Lauren started her musical path when she took up the piano at the age of eight and began learning to play the oboe at eight and a half.

She has stuck with the oboe but can also play the flute, the instrument with which she is featured in the Amadeus brochure.

"I have done some other photo shoots.

I particularly enjoyed the Independent Paper shoot, it was a really nice day and we had a good time since there were quite a few of us there," said Lauren.

Independent Paper chairman Mike Gee said: "This beautiful brochure endorses what our existing customers already know about Amadeus, showing it is a high quality coated paper that gives them excellent print results.

Independent Paper prides itself on giving printers freedom of choice and Amadeus provides some of the finest print results in the graphic industry.
