The revitalised Astralux cast coated paper range is proving popular, according to Independent Paper, which said it can supply the full range of items in 24 hours.

Astralux has been available to printers for many years but five years ago was added to the portfolio of Italian company Favini.

Independent carries the Astralux range, which now includes a new brighter white and extra colour options, as a full stock range.

"Astralux is a brand that people have trusted for many years but now Independent have reminded printers of its great qualities.

We have the flexibility and capacity to get any of the Astralux products to customers within 24 hours of receiving an order and that is adding to its success," said Independent's product manager Paul Cassidy.

Astralux is available in 10 grammages and offers a cast coated finish making it suitable for a range of applications such as point of sale and packaging.

A high degree of ink absorption, the contrast provided by the bright white shade and the paper's even surface ensure printed images shine through with maximum impact, said Independent.

The range includes wet strength label papers in 80gsm, 90gsm and 115gsm, one-sided card in weights from 170gsm to 350gsm and two-sided 250gsm card and its colours include eight pastel shades, six metallics, three pearls and 12 brights including sunflower yellow, Prussian blue and meadow green.
