Independent Paper has opened its new West Midlands (UK) branch and added to its staff with the recruitment of Peter King from Beswick Paper.

Independent Paper has opened its new West Midlands (UK) branch and added to its staff with the recruitment of Peter King from Beswick Paper.

King (39), who was at Beswick's for eight years, will be responsible for inside sales and will work alongside sales manager Steve Plant who joined Independent from Beswick's last month.

King will be responsible for developing new business as well as servicing existing customers' needs.

King said: "I am looking forward to cementing a good working relationship with new colleagues and helping to build a successful West Midlands branch for Independent." The West Midlands office, which is in Dudley, will be headed by Roy Butler who has transferred from the Independent's Leicester office.

Stephen Goodwin, who spent his first 20 years in the paper trade in Birmingham, will have overall responsibility for the East Midlands and West Midlands operations.

Mike Gee, chairman of Independent Paper, said: "We have had a very successful 12 months and feel now is the ideal time to expand.

We have put an experienced team in place to ensure that we can develop our business in the West Midlands.
