UK Paper Merchant Has Forest Certified Products
Independent Paper now has its first Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified uncoated paper with Chain of Custody certification, UPM-Kymmene's UPM Fine's sheet-fed grade in its range.
And whilst Independent will make suggestions as to which type of paper to use, it has opted to leave the printing of the calendar to printers themselves.
"The way we look at it we know our industry and they know theirs.
We will provide stunning images in a calendar format and then encourage printers to go off and print them since they are the experts," said Paul Cassidy, product manager at Independent, which has five branches nationwide "They will also have the opportunity to dual-brand the calendars since, whilst our original artwork will carry the Independent Paper logo, there will also be a suitable space for them to add their own branding." The campaign centres on encouraging independence and it is followed through with the concept for the images themselves, added the company.
Each actress has posed for two shots based on the theme of independent thinking, with the images challenging preconceived ideas, said Independent.
The caption for actress Lynette Craene's pose for June is 'Tying The Knot' but whilst thoughts might instantly turn to weddings the shot shows her fastening her tie.
Other images are captioned 'Porn Star', 'Chick Flick' and 'Girl's Night In', though none of the pictures are quite what the titles suggest, said the company.
Cassidy commented: "We think this is a really exciting campaign.
As a company, we pride ourselves on our independence and our ability to give our customers freedom of choice.
With this campaign, rather than sending printers a calendar that somebody else has printed, we wanted to try a different approach.
Once the 12 images have been emailed out to printers, they will receive our choice of the right paper to use but the printing itself will be left entirely to them since they have the expertise.
We just want them to get on with what they do best.".
