Paper Firm's Warehouse Closes To Make
Savings
Independent Paper's Wakefield warehouse will close later this summer as the company streamlines its distribution network to effect cost savings and increase efficiency.
The company commented that following closure of the Wakefield, West Yorkshire (UK) operation, all its deliveries to Yorkshire, Lancashire and other areas in northern England will be provided by Independent Paper's new Bardon central distribution facility Mike Gee, Independent Paper's managing director, said: "To maintain our independence and retain our competitive position in the market place, we are making the changes to provide a low cost, customer focussed logistics model for the future." Ron Turner and Bill Irwin will operate locally in Yorkshire, with Paul Jackson and Ken Brown continuing to operate from the existing Warrington offices
