UK Paper Merchant Has Forest Certified Products

Independent Paper now has its first Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified uncoated paper with Chain of Custody certification, UPM-Kymmene's UPM Fine's sheet-fed grade in its range.

UPM Fine has been stocked by Independent Paper since the paper's launch, when it had 22 items in the product range, although it has been extended to include 120 products.

The paper merchant was successfully audited for environmental FSC and PEFC certification systems last September and it has also been awarded Chain of Custody (CoC) for both schemes.

Independent Paper's product manager, Paul Cassidy, said: "We are delighted to be stocking our first FSC certified uncoated product in sheets and pleased that it's from one of our long-standing business partners - UPM.

In the past 12 months we have added another two grammages to our stocks, including weights at either end of the product scale.

In fact, six different items have been added in the past six months and the range keeps developing as consumers needs change.

UPM Fine is a definite success story.".
