UK paper merchant, Independent Paper, said it is improving sales and service operations with the opening of its new sales office in Dartford and warehousing and logistics operation in Leicestershire.

The opening of the new office follows the closure of the Swanley sales office, whose sales and administration teams have been relocated to the new Dartford site Since it was opened, the Bardon warehouse has been used to service Independent's customers in the Midlands and the north of England and to improve the cost-effectiveness of the company's deliveries

Gradually the delivery service provided by Bardon has expanded to cover other regions of Independent's customer base.

Current Dartford branch manager John Jones will be retiring from the company and his role will be taken by Andy Faithful, although Jones will be supporting Faithful for six months and to assist the sales operation.

Independent Paper's managing director, Mike Gee, said: "With John Jones retiring in September after great service to Independent and the industry as a whole, we had no hesitation in asking Andy Faithful to take over in the role of branch manager.

Andy has accepted this challenge and he and the team are excited to be in their new office and able to offer customers a great service from our purpose-built distribution facility in Bardon.".
