Digital Print Boosts Transpromo Print Performance

Vesa Direct, a direct mail and promotional marketing company, has installed multiple full-colour Infoprint 5000 colour printers for a colour transpromo printing project for Telefonica Movistar.

Infoprint Solutions' Infoprint 5000s will enable Vesa Direct to position itself as a leading supplier of transpromo in Spain, said the company.

According to Infoprint, Vesa Direct plans to continue to expand its colour printing operations as it achieves key milestones, complementing the Infoprint 4100 and Infoprint 4000 mono printers already in production with the company.

Vesa Direct is responsible for printing Telefonica Spain's invoices, as well as statements for the country's banks and it produces more than one billion pages every year.

Infoprint said that the contract demonstrates a renewal of Vesa Direct's commitment to the company.

In 2006, the Telefonica Group replaced its Oce digital printers with an Infoprint system in a contract valued at millions of Euros.

At that time, Vesa Direct installed multiple Infoprint 4100 and 4000 systems to create an overall digital print capacity of 6,000 copies per minute.

Earlier this year, Vesa bought additional Infoprint 4100 and 4000 systems for its new offices in Valencia and increased the capacity at its Tres Cantos factory.

Vesa Direct's entire print operation is managed using Infoprint Manager (IPM) on IBM P Series servers and is designed for high availability, added Infoprint.

The installation of the Infoprint 5000s for colour transpromo printing is the next step in Vesa Direct's plan to provide greater competitive advantage to its clients and the project is claimed to be one of the first of its kind in Europe, added the company.
