Kalamazoo Cheques Passes PIRA Checks

To improve cheque quality and security, the Cheque Printer Accreditation Scheme has been established by the Cheque and Credit Clearing Company and APACS (Associate on Payment Clearing Services).
A Grade 1 rating offers the highest degree of security.
Grade 1 is 0 is equivalent to 1%-10% removal and was achieved on Kalamazoo's new range of security cheques across all three methods of attack.
PIRA's benchmark sample is Grade 2, which produces 10%-50% removal with evidence of paper damage.
Kalamazoo's cheques achieved the Grade 1 mark with APV (adhesion promoting varnish) included.
Even without APV, Kalamazoo samples reached the standard PIRA Grade 2 rating.
Kalamazoo believes its new cheque security features exceed tough new guidelines implemented on September 30 2003 by APACS.
The standards have been designed to fight rising fraud levels and the increasing sophistication in technology being used for altering and counterfeiting purposes.
