Kall Kwik has opened a new centralised production unit Morden to consolidate the printing equipment of one of three of its most important centres in the south east of England.

Terry, Stuart and Jason Lowrie have owned the three centres - at Putney, Tunbridge Wells and Clapham - since 1991.

They said that whilst business has experienced a yearly growth rate of 20% the new centre is their first entry in to digital printing.

The latest Heidelberg Quickmaster 46DI model at £270,000 has been bought to run alongside five existing printing presses within the 3,800 sq ft site.

The new digital imaging press is capable of a same-day turn around of a 20,000 full colour print run.

The central production unit also boasts a full poster and exhibition design service, and a high speed Oce digital black and white printer with scanning.

Jason Lowrie commented: "These digital investments mean that we can provide our customers with the optimum quality and service they have come to expect.

In line with future market expectations we have moved into the full colour, short run market, paying particular attention to our new digital capabilities." John Blyth, head of marketing for Kall Kwik UK added: "This is an exciting stage in the development of what has become an increasingly successful family business.

We see the Lowries going from strength to strength, with the new production unit serving as a spring board to achieve further success across their markets." Kall Kwik is the largest print, design and copy specialist in the UK with almost 170 centres.
