The organisers sent regular emails with the latest news and information and were professional and supportive.
The awards luncheon at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington last October was impeccably organised and the speakers at the event were just right for the occasion and very focused towards small businesses.
Dan Matthews, the online editor for Crimson Business said: "Cornhill Kall Kwik is the perfect model for other startup companies considering entering this year's awards.
The team fully embraced the whole experience, maximising every opportunity to generate publicity and raise its profile in the months that followed and continues to do so in the continuing marketing of the business.
Our aim when we launched the awards was to identify and recognise the UK's best new businesses and we've certainly done that with Cornhill Kall Kwik." Following last year's event, the second annual Startups Awards has just been launched by Startups.co.uk in conjunction with Natwest Bank.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held at the Royal Garden Hotel on October 21.
The Startups Awards 2005 are endorsed by the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
In addition to Franchisee of the Year, the awards comprise 12 other categories including Retailer of the Year, Manufacturing Business of the Year and even a Silver Fox Award for the more mature entrepreneur.
The winners of each category will then compete to be named Startups Awards 2005 Business of the Year, and collect the prize of GBP 5,000.
This year's judging panel consists of some of the UK's successful entrepreneurs, including Sahar Haschemi of Coffee Republic, Sarah Tremellen of Bravissmo and Michael Murphy of Friends Reunited, plus representatives from government bodies, education, relevant associations, venture capitalists and business journalists.
To be eligible to enter the 2005 Startups Awards, companies must have been trading for less than three years, and employ under 60 people.
Closing date for entries is July 11.
