KBA Seminar Explores UV Inks And Coatings Issues

UV curing inks and coatings will be the subject of a two-day seminar staged by KBA North America on July 24 - 25 at its corporate office and customer centre in Williston, Vermont (USA).

KBA said it has arranged experts who will help to provide instruction and analysis on a variety of aspects focusing on UV processes.

The topics to be covered include drying systems, an explanation of hybrid presses, combination printing rollers, UV inks and hybrid inks in relation to conventional printing processes, pre-press adjustment for UV, finishing requirements, UV consumables, plastics and a non-porous substrate overview.

New applications, special effects and the future outlook for this market sector will also be explored.

Delegates will have the opportunity to see print test results on KBA's Rapida 105 41-inch sheetfed press as well as the Genius 52 UV press.

Representatives from PACE Industries, Flint Group, Bottcher Rollers and other companies will be present to help explain their specialist areas of UV printing.

Printers are constantly asking us for advice to produce special effects for their customers who want to differentiate themselves using UV inks and coating.

We have lined up industry experts to participate in our seminar and are looking forward to clearing up many gray areas on this topic." She added: "All of the questions, myths, pros and cons will be addressed regarding how to print with UV inks including hybrid and high adhesion, for instance.
