Rapida Presses Help Carton Firm Achieve Growth

A KBA North America product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Nov 7, 2007

Two KBA Rapida 105 41-inch sheetfed presses are helping Colonial Carton Company to achieve double-digit sales growth.

The pharmaceutical folding carton manufacturer in Clayton, North Carolina (USA) also uses four-colour and seven-colour presses equipped with KBA's Qualitronic II in-line sheet inspection system that takes pictures of each sheet for full copy control and produces 18,000 sheets per hour, added KBA.

Colonial Carton Company's operation has several production lines, a full design department, an in-house die shop and online inventory management.

It is also cGMP ISO 9001-2000STD approved.

Joe Elphick, president and chief executive officer of Colonial Carton, commented: "Our duo of KBA presses is helping us bring in a host of new customers who give us value-added jobs with specialised coatings.

We've been able to produce jobs that we couldn't produce before.

The expansion of our market, with over 40 per cent growth in sales, required us to buy new die-cutters and folder gluers.

In the past year.

Our KBA presses are fantastic.".
