Reliable Performance Clinches Sixth Press Order
Derbyshire (UK) trade printer Plan 4 Print has ordered its sixth Komori press, this time a five-colour Lithrone L528 with coater.
Now that the installation is complete Covington is even more sure that it made the right choice.
"It does everything it says on the box.
The very first jobs we put on the Kolbus ran perfectly," he commented.
Muir's has been in business for over a century and on the same south London site for the past 35 years.
Added Covington: "We have two perfect binding lines plus sewers, folders and case binding.
Space is at a premium so the Kolbus machine's small footprint was quite important.
With fast make-ready and running at 6,000 per hour the KM 470 will ensure deadlines are met and work will not take up valuable storage space." Putting cloth on to book blocks for case binding is something else the Kolbus KM 470 will be able to do, automating a job which had previously taken days by hand.
Also, being able to offer PUR binding will take Muir's in to new markets, he concluded.
