Perfect Binder Speeds Reports And Catalogues
With clients demanding fast turnaround and high quality for binding reports and accounts and art and auction catalogues J Muir Bookbinders in Blackheath (UK) has upgraded its ageing perfect binder.
Terry Kelly, a Wares director, said: "With the latest Kolbus Ratiobinder running beautifully we are doing an increasing amount of magazine work, so the inserting capability of the CMC kit is particularly useful.
And being able to individually shrink-wrap without slowing down, well that's a real bonus." Kolbus UK has installed a CMC Ritmica SH-30 inserting and wrapping line with autoloader, six insert stations, wrapping, shrink tunnel and stacker.
The 23-metre long machine has been installed off-line for increased flexibility, to add value to existing products and bring new market areas in-house.
Terry Kelly further commented: "We are finding increasingly that perfect bound products are also carrying inserts - customer reply forms and the like.
Whereas we used to do this work by hand we can now do it automatically at full production speed." Robert Flather, Kolbus UK's managing director, added: "Following our installation of the UK's first KM 473 binding line at Wares, this CMC kit completes a total turnkey bindery.
The move in to mailing equipment represents a new market for Kolbus and demonstrates another aspect of the extended product portfolio now on offer.".
