K2 International will be demonstrating the capabilities of its compact, high-performance KDO 3 Series, six-colour flexographic label printing machine at Ipex.

In hall 1, stand D32 at the NEC in Birmkngham (UK) the 265mm web width press will be equipped with a range of features, including UV dryer, video web inspection, an over-lamination and cold foil station with sheet and turnbar, as well as K2's latest quick change-over anilox roller and print cylinder system.

The machine, part of K2's range, which also includes 400mm and 500mm web width options, is suitable for printing a variety of labels and packaging materials.

A similar press is currently in use at Willowbridge Labels in Suffolk, where it is helping to boost the company's productivity and capacity to handle more contracts.

K2 will also show a new slitter and rewinder machine, which has a range of features, such as air shafts, automatic tension control and rotary scissor action knives.

It is designed to complement K2's range of flexo printing presses.

K2's managing director Russell Oddy said: "I expect to generate a lot of interest in the highly-adaptable 3 Series machine and I'm confident the working demonstrations on the K2 stand will provide an opportunity for visitors to see the superior levels of job quality it can produce." The company said that it has won a number of new orders recently for its KDO machines from customers in the UK and Europe.

It has also made several new appointments, which have seen Alan Sugden join as service engineer and Barry Topliss as international sales director.
