K2 International, a UK manufacturer of narrow web printing and converting equipment, won two orders for its KDO flexographic printing presses at Ipex 2006 The Worcestershire company has secured new business from Vietnam-based Agriculture Printing and Packaging, as well as from Lithuanian company Daigai

K2 will shortly supply a KDO 3 series, six-colour flexographic machine for APP's factory in Hanoi City, where it will be used for printing a variety of self-adhesive labels.

The 265mm width web press will feature a UV dryer and video web inspection, as well as K2's latest quick change-over anilox roller and print cylinder system.

K2 will also build a KDO 3 Series, seven-colour, 500mm width web press for Daigai's Vilnius production facility, where it will be used not only for printing on to standard self-adhesive paper labels, but also on to the new generation of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film.

K2's managing director, Russell Oddy, commented: "Ipex proved to be a very successful show for K2 and I'm delighted with the new business and the quality of enquiries generated on our stand.

Feedback from visitors about K2 products and services has been extremely positive." He continued: "After initial interest over the internet, representatives from APP came to the show and placed the order as they were impressed by the demonstration on the stand.

Daigai already uses several presses, including a KDO machine, and wanted to purchase another unit to expand its business.

Unusually, the directors left the final decision of whether to buy a KDO or another make to the workforce, which unanimously voted in our favour.".
