A Dutch label company has purchased its second KDO flexographic printing machine from K2 International as part of an expansion plan to further increase its capacity.

A Dutch label company has purchased its second KDO flexographic printing machine from K2 International as part of an expansion plan to further increase its capacity.

Etipro BV is using a 3 Series two-colour, 400mm web press at its factory in Oosterhout, near Utrecht, to print a range of self-adhesive labels for customers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

K2 said that Etipro was not only impressed with the modular design of the KDO machine, which can be expanded at a later date, but also with the rapid job set-up times offered by the touch screen programming facility and PLC control.

The machine, produced at K2's manufacturing facility in Worcestershire (UK) also included K2's latest change-over anilox roller and print cylinder system, automatic web tension control, end-of-roll detection and high power dryers.

The press complements Etipro's existing KDO four-colour 265mm narrow web press, which was purchased in 2002 and was the company's first flexographic printing machine.

Russell Oddy, K2's managing director, said: "Etipro was very satisfied with its first KDO machine and was keen to purchase another to boost its capacity.

As well as forging an excellent working relationship with K2, Etipro has also been impressed with the high level of customer and technical sales support received from initial order through to installation." K2 International added that it has secured a series of significant new contracts in recent months including orders from the UK, eastern Europe and the Far East.
