UK flexographic press manufacturer K2 International has completed the latest phase of an investment programme in new machinery.

UK flexographic press manufacturer K2 International has completed the latest phase of an investment programme in new machinery.

K2 has purchased two new, fully-automatic, British-made CNC machining centres for its factory in Worcestershire after an increase in new business thanks to a series of successful exhibitions in the UK, Poland and India, said the company.

The new machines are being used to produce a variety of steel components for K2's KDO range of narrow web presses, which are designed for printing labels and other packaging materials.

Russell Oddy, K2 International's managing director, commented: "The new equipment means K2 is not only able to achieve higher levels of productivity but also further enhance the quality of all our components produced on site.

I also believe the decision to purchase British-made machinery is an important sign to customers that K2 is determined to produce only the very best quality parts for its presses." K2 International said it is aiming to build on its flourishing order book, following orders for KDO presses from customers in the UK, Holland, Hungary and India.

The manufacturer has also built its largest flexo press when it supplied a 10-colour machine for a printing company near Bombay (India).
