UK Firm's Flexo Printing Systems Sales Success

A K2 International Trading product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Sep 18, 2007

Four KDO label printing systems have been ordered by a Danish label printer, which will be installed at a new GBP1 million production line at a factory near Copenhagen.

Worcestershire (UK) K2 International Trading also has two of its bespoke KDO flexo presses being used at Ikon Print for producing high-security RFID tags and labels for libraries.

The 3 Series, 265mm web machines were adapted to include a print station and five die cutting stations.

K2 also supplied an additional six-colour 3 Series flexo press equipped with GEW UV drying and over-lamination, as well as a benchtop slitter rewinder.

Ikon Print's managing director, Thomas Nielsen, appreciated K2's technical support throughout the project and added:.

"It was very important for us to achieve a specific design so that the presses could be easily integrated with equipment from other suppliers.

K2 is very good because the company only thinks in terms of solutions, not problems." In addition, K2 has produced a special two-colour KDO modular flexo press for label printer BS Labels.

The servo-driven equipment has been retrofitted on to an existing Ko-Pack machine so the Leicestershire (UK) business can expand in to new markets.

A BS Labels director, Michael Pickering, said: "Whilst other options were set to take between eight and 16 weeks, K2 was able to produce and install the press within just three weeks.

It was an impressive achievement and the service was excellent." Completing the series of new contracts was an order from Advanced Labelling Systems for a second KDO security tag integration press to meet growing demand for patented label services.

ALS, which already uses a number of two-colour and four-colour KDO flexo machines, has integrated the latest press in to a specialist printing line at its factory in Oxfordshire (UK).
