Narrow Web Flexo Press Meets Label Print

Midland Regional Printers has installed a new K2 International KDO flexographic press to meet growing demand for its label printing services.
The UK printer is using the KDO 3 Series, four-colour 265mm narrow web machine to produce self-adhesive labels for customers in the leisure and entertainment sectors The KDO 3 Series press's touch screen, PLC-controll is complemented by ceramic anilox rolls with doctor blades, as well as a range of other features, including fully-automatic web tension control and rotary scissor slitting

A KDO six-colour flexographic printing machine, manufactured by K2, is helping a UK label company to further improve its productivity and boost its capability to handle more contracts.
It is the third KDO machine to be supplied to Midland Regional Printers's Basford, Nottinghmashire facility, which also uses a pair of KDO six-colour and seven-colour narrow web presses with infra red drying and UV curing units for printing a variety of labels.
Kevin Brennan, Midlands Regional Printers' production manager, said: "This new flexo press provides extra capacity following a significant increase in business for our label printing services.
Whilst other suppliers were considered, K2 has a proven track record and its service is very good." He added: "The K2 machines are extremely reliable and very little production downtime has been lost through breakdowns over the years.
Tool changing and press operation is quick and easy, so it made a lot of sense to choose another KDO press to complement the existing flexo equipment." It is the latest contract for the Worcestershire-based K2, which has also supplied a number of flexo presses to customers in the UK, Scandinavia and India.
