Multi-Function Print For Decentralised Operations
KIP UK has launched the KIP3000, a multi-function print system (MFP) that enables digital copying, scanning and printing for decentralised print operations.
The Siemens system will be supported by KIP's customer support package.
Siemens can now create eleven A0 copies of its engineering drawings every minute, which is half the time taken by its previous system, said KIP.
The KIPStar 8000 integrates folding capability in to the printing software to provide a single process and ensure larger drawings are packaged correctly.

Digital Printers With Windows Vista Compatability
Full Windows Vista compatibility is now provided by the wide-format digital printers from KIP UK after the company's Windows driver completed tests at the Windows Hardware Quality Labs.
Siemens has already implemented KIP 2080 scanning, which has reduced scanning times from several hours to merely a few minutes by using KIP's real-time thresholding process, said the company.
Mel Clark, the printing manager at Siemens, said: "The installation of the new printing system was very quick, and the improvements in quality and speed have already been considerable.
KIP replaced our old system, which needed an upgrade and greater integration with other applications and systems, such as folders.
The new system has already increased our production rate by printing at around twice the speed of our old one.
This is not the first time we have worked with KIP, as we used its services when we replaced our old scanner in late 2003.
That accelerated the archiving and digitalisation part of our operation, but also ensured TWAIN compliance, so we could integrate with more applications." The KIPStar 8000 is claimed to provide a high quality end product, whilst being 100 per cent toner efficient and high speed, running at 14.4 metres per minute.
The software is based on an open architecture, which allows it to be integrated with Siemens' existing resources as well as the entire range of KIP products.
That includes the KIP 2080 scanning system, which uses real-time thresholding to reduce the time needed to clean up scanned images, by doing that whilst it is scanning the document, said KIP.
Chris Hill, the managing director of KIP UK, commented: "We pride ourselves on delivering systems which create and reproduce documents to the highest quality, but we are also aware that supporting those systems is important, which is why we have highly skilled technicians and consultants and have developed our processes to make our customer support package fully comprehensive.".
