The claimed small footprint KIP3000 provides walk-up users with high definition print technology and claimed quality 600 dots per inch (dpi) documents, whilst maintaining a 100 per cent toner efficiency.

With the KIP3000, the company believes it is providing the first printer technology vendor to integrate a simple to use cost accounting capability in to its printers - accessible through its touch screen interface - to ensure that businesses gain total control over their billing and operating costs.

PIN-based access enables users to fully audit all activity through the system on an individual and project by project basis.

The integrated touch screen retains the same format for scanning, printing and copying, whilst on-screen, context sensitive user guides prevent the need for extended training sessions or dedicated operators and ensure that the system is always available for use, said KIP.

The system prints all standard file formats and also includes the ability to batch print Autodesk DWF and PDF files.

The included Printnet browser-based print manager gives business-wide accessibility, allowing the user to print from anywhere in the world, as well as the ability to scan to mailbox for more efficient distribution of information across the business, added the company.

Chris Hill, the managing director of KIP UK, said: "Our design for the new system was geared towards making it easily accessible to every person from a wide range of business sectors.

The smaller footprint means that you don't need a print room, and through the touch-screen we can offer manageable access for every employee combined with a means to perform simple maintenance tasks - so you don't need to call an engineer if something needs doing." He continued: "From a manager's point of view, we have also introduced a number of integrated features, such as cost accounting.

This is a real differentiator for our KIP3000 system as it ensures that all departments can track their copy, print and scan expenditure on a project by project basis." KIP3000 can be bought as an entry level system that is upgradeable through a keycode accessed over the internet.

Additional functions can be enabled through the internet access code, said the company.

KIP believes that the design of the KIP3000 adds to the installation of the system, because it can fit in to the smallest available space, even up against a wall, because paper loads and exits from the front.

The system's print management facilities include the ability to recall and resize previous copy jobs without rescanning and the function of being able to monitor and amend print queues according to priority.

The web-based KIP Request software provides remote users with status information to ensure off-site workers have access to the same functions as office based employees.
