World's First Wide Format Toner-Based
Printer
The European launch of the Color 80, which is claimed to be the world's first and only wide format LED toner based printer, will be staged by KIP UK at Drupa 2008 in Germany.
KIP said it believes the Color 80 will change the landscape for volume wide format colour printing as it is capable of producing A0 output every 17 seconds, which is almost four A0 sheets per minute, regardless of image coverage or complexity The company also claimed that the Color 80 can print on to regular bond paper, as well as a range of more specialised substrates, all of which are instantly dry and UV stable

Multi-Function Print For Decentralised Operations
KIP UK has launched the KIP3000, a multi-function print system (MFP) that enables digital copying, scanning and printing for decentralised print operations.
The Color 80 print system is designed for users requiring high speed production of colour documents, business communications and display graphics.
The system covers the spectrum of applications from architectural, engineering and construction documents to posters, signs and photographic enlargements.
As well as the Color 80, at Drupa KIP will present its KIP9000 wide format printer and IPS control system.
The 9000 is said to meet the need to accurately reproduce complex, greyscale prints and, for example, native printing of the fast growing Autodesk DWF format.
The system is claimed to ensure that print volume is always satisfied, even when peak demand occurs last thing on a Friday afternoon.
The KIP9000 features, as standard, touch screen operation for security access and cost control, together with internet-based printing, as well as colour copying to already installed inkjet printers.
KIP said that its open architecture IPS software enables users to gain all the benefits of HDP print quality and ultra-high speed production without the need to change workflow patterns and embedded software, either in-house or at remote user locations, enabling integration.
The company has claimed that it is the UK's only dedicated supplier and manufacturer of wide-format digital reprographic systems.
