New Toner For Digital Printing Enhances Images
Konica Minolta Printing Solutions Europe has introduced its latest polymerised toner, Simitri HD.
Konica Minolta Printing Solutions Europe has introduced its latest polymerised toner, Simitri HD.
Konica Minolta said the claimed high definition toner provides greater versatility, enhanced image output and an environmentally friendly production process.
The company added that thanks to the fine and uniform shape of its toner particles, Simitri HD can print digital images with the finest of gradients, providing improved print quality compared to existing methods using pulverised toner.
That also means that less toner is needed than before, making Simitri HD polymerised toner cost effective.
Konica Minolta believes that improved half tones provide more naturals prints for documents ranging from photographs to illustrations.
Combined with the Konica Minolta colour management technology, a colour matching system that includes Pantone tables to give consistent and accurate colour, the new Simitri HD polymerised toner offers the highest quality image output.
Hiroyuki Masuda, Konica Minolta Printing Soluitions' manager for product marketing EMEA, said: "Our extensive research and development in high definition toner and improvements in the capabilities of polymerised toner, strengthens our position as leading toner manufacturer.
With the introduction of Simitri HD polymerised toner, we have brought the quality and versatility of in-house printing to a whole new level, which greatly reduces the need for costly outsourced printing." He added: "Due to its innovative technology, the quality and durability of documentation printed in the office becomes of offset quality.
Also, Simitri HD polymerised toner supports a wider range of media, which gives businesses the increased flexibility and cost-effectiveness of printing commercial materials on-demand." Print quality that rivals offset printing Simitri HD provides durable print quality that challenges offset printing.
Through its claimed ability to strengthen the bond of colour pigment particles, Simitri HD polymerised toner reduces the effect of chemical change and can withstand extended exposure to UV light, which improves fade resistance, it is claimed.
A broader colour gamut is said to give a smooth dispersion of colour pigments, which enables a higher reproduction quality due to the wider range of colours available, added Konica Minolta.
Furthermore, Simitri HD polymerised toner provides the additional freedom of overprinting on pre-printed documents.
The company said that compared to the previous version, Simitri HD polymerised toner operates at a lower temperature, which not only saves up to 15 per cent more energy but it also reduces paper curling - a known cause of paper jams.
Furthermore, it supports a variety of media from glossy to thick stock.
Due to its manufacturing process, Simitri HD polymerised toner is said to emit 40 per cent less CO2, NOx, and SOx than conventional pulverised toners.
Simitri HD cartridges are included in the Clean Planet Program, the Konica Minolta return cartridge recycling programme that encourages environmental conservation.
As a result of the programme, 99 per cent of the cartridge mass is recycled, said the company.
Simitri HD polymerised toner will be available to use in future Konica Minolta colour laser printers.
