Tamada won the Japanese grand prix last September and, according to Konica minolta, is well placed to mount a challenge for the 2005 MotoGP championship, which began with the first grand prix of the season in Jerez, earlier this month.
MotoGP is the world's most prominent series of motorcycle racing championships held on five continents and the Konica Minolta Honda team will participate in the highest MotoGP class.
This year the British grand prix will take place at the Donington Park circuit on July 24.
Races will take place in Europe at such circuits as Sachsenring (Germany), Les Mans (France) and Assen (Holland).
Races will also be held for the first time in Shanhai (China) and for the first time in 11 years in Laguna Seca (USA).
With its sponsorship Konica Minolta expects to increase brand recognition and brand image worldwide.
