Using laser-imaging technology Bizhub 160 is a multifunctional device that can copy, print, scan and fax that is said to have a small footprint, making it suitable for where companies have a premium on space is at a premium.
For A4 copying the Bizhub 160 has a claimed warm up time of less than 25 seconds with a print speed of 16 copies a minute.
The ADF (automatic document feeder) option for the Bizhub 160 and 161, which is standard for the Bizhub 160f, can feed up to 50 originals.

That can be expanded with the addition of an optional 500-sheet large capacity drawer, said the company.
As a standalone computer printer the Bizhub 160 offers GDI Windows printing via a USB interface delivering at a claimed 600 dots per inch (dpi) x 600 dpi.
Print memory is 32Mb as standard (about 40 pages of text) expandable to 48Mb.
For workgroups, Konica Minotla said that the Bizhub 161 can be used for PCL network printing at resolutions up to 1,200dpi x 600dpi with a 32Mb standard memory expandable to 160Mb.
The colour TWAIN scanning function of the Bizhub 161 is also said to allow colour scans to be easily integrated in to other applications, such as Powerpoint presentations or Word documentss.
Scan to e-mail or scan to FTP are also possible.
The scan function can be used with the Pagescope Cabinet 2.0 document management software to archive, retrieve and manage files.
The Bizhub 160f has a 33.6 Kbps modem for super group three fax receive and transmission with 15 one touch and 200 abbreviated speed dials.
For group transmission, 15 groups of up to 50 locations can be stored and polling or broadcasting to 231 locations is also possible.
