New High Volume Bizhub's 200,000 Prints
Per Month

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (KMBS) has launched the Bizhub PRO 920 high volume system with a claimed throughput speed of 92 A4 prints per minute (5,520 A4 impressions per hour).

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (KMBS) has launched the Bizhub PRO 920 high volume system with a claimed throughput speed of 92 A4 prints per minute (5,520 A4 impressions per hour) The Bizhub PRO 920 is said to offer quality copy, print and precision scanning functions and is designed for high volume, high speed usage in CRDs (Central Reprographic Departments)

It is also said to manage a workload of 200,000 prints per month and a peak volume of 750,000 prints per month.

Print speed for A3 production is 54 sheets a minute and the Bizhub PRO can print on to paper up to A3+ (314mm by 460mm maximum) in size and to a maximum weight of 200gsm.

To meet the needs of a high volume environment, the maximum paper capacity is 7,150 sheets, said the company.

Featuring 600 dots per inch (dpi) x 600dpi print and copy resolution (1,200dpi x 600dpi emulation) with 256 grayscale levels, the Bizhub PRO 920 produces clear text, sharp edges and smooth halftones, said KMBS.

It uses Konica Minolta's Simitri polymerised toner, which is said to have smaller, smoother, more uniform toner particles for more even distribution, which the company believes is significantly better for fine line definition and better solid fills.

The Bizhub PRO 920's IC-203 embedded print controller features PCL5e/6 and optional Postscript Level 3, with direct PDF and TIFF printing, scan-to-SMB (desktop), scan-to-email, scan-to-hard drive and scan-to-FTP functions, all at up to 600dpi resolution, said KMBS.

Standard memory is 256Mb with a 40Gb hard drive for storage.

The bizhub PRO 920's User Box feature supports each of the device's functions - copy, print and scan.

With a total of 1,000 user boxes and the ability to store up to 3,000 documents, users can manage individual User Boxes, create public and private User Boxes, assign passwords and restrict the number of files stored, added the company.

Designed as a modular system the Bizhub PRO 920 has a range of document finishing options for collating, folding, punching, binding and booklet production.

Advanced features include trimming and saddle stitching, Z folding, post insertion of pre-printed covers and printing of stamps and watermarks.

KMBS said that in its opinion, due to the importance of document security and document management in today's business environment, the Bizhub PRO 920 is ISO-15408 certified and supports hard disk drive overwrite and 'job erase', which automatically overwrites the hard disk drive after each job.

The Bizhub PRO 920 also offers user authentication with NDS capability to protect a user job by prohibiting its modification or deletion.

With user authentication, it is also possible to enable or disable each user's access to the device, based on function - copy, print, scan, fax and hold job control.
