Dots Software is a developer of high end software for printing and implementing document workflows.
Henry Okamura, president of Konica Minolta Business Solutions said: "Konica Minolta has set worldwide targets to expand the business with professional services and products.
With this acquisition we have enlarged our specific know-how and software portfolio." Dots Software is based in Berlin (Germany) and was founded in 1997 by Clemens Grossmann and Detlef Rupp, with the purpose of supplying software for the laser printing market.
Guided by the founders' principle of providing freedom in digital printing, Dots is a developer of print job submission and workflow systems.
Dots products are available in over 30 countries through a network of partners, distributors and resellers, offering an increasing range of products for the corporate headquarters and the copy shop segments.
Dirk Wetzel, senior manager of the European solution and offering centre at Konica Minolta, added: "Konica Minolta and Dots have been working closely together for more than five years now and we can already look back on a large customer base.
Through the acquisition of 75.03 per cent of the Dot shares we will be able to intensify our cooperation and strategically work on improving our position in the office and production printing market." Clemens Grossmann, the chief executive officer of Dots, commented: "We believe that the specific software knowledge of dots and the innovative products of Konica Minolta are a perfect fit.
Now that Dots is a member of the Konica Minolta group we will be able to develop advanced software applications to fulfil the needs of our customers and improve their printing workflows.".
