The Bizhub Pro was seclected by the Buyers Laboratory Incorporated (BLI) in the United States.
It is the first time since 2000 that the BLI has singled out one imaging system for this special recognition.
Said BLI managing editor, Daria Hoffman: "Rarely has a product impressed us the way the Bizhub Pro 1050 has.
Its performance was so stellar in every way: reliability, productivity, ease of use, image quality and paper handling.
Of all the many products tested in the past year, it is the unanimous favourite of BLI's technicians and editors." The Bizhub Pro 1050 is claimed to be the first system in its production segment capable of handling paper up to 300gsm (simplex) and 244gsm (duplex) at a print speed of up to 6,300 A4 sheets an hour.
It is also said to enable booklet production and trimming of up to 200 pages, network scanning and variable printing with consistent print quality thanks to Simitri, Konica Minolta's polymerised toner.
Jos Kelly, Konica Minolta Business Solutions' head of production print, said: "To receive such enthusiastic praise from the independent and highly respected Buyers Laboratory demonstrates that the Bizhub PRO 1050 sets the bench mark for production print performance in its market segment.
