The new Bizhub PRO C6500e is said to be designed for heavy-duty production, capable of handling up to 300,000 A4 sheets per month and has an output capacity of up to 3,900 pages per hour (65 pages per minute) in full colour and mono.
Konica Minolta claimed that output can be on to stock up to 300gsm thick for simplex print or 256gsm for perfecting print (duplex) output.
The Bizhub Pro C6500e provides a range of printing choices and is equally capable of printing on paper, card, or coated stock, added the company.

New Imaging System As Fast In Colour And Mono
Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) has introduced a new general office version of the Konica 8050 colour imaging system.
Memory capacity is 1,024Mb, with 4x40Gb hard drives as standard.
Scanning resolution is claimed to be 600 dots per inch (dpi) x 600dpi and printing resolution is 1,800dpi x 600dpi.
The Bizhub Pro C6500e also uses Konica Minolta's Simitri HD polymerised toner.
Polymerised toner particles are said to be finer and more uniform in shape than conventional pulverised toner.
That produces images that are sharper with more definition on text reproduction and finer dot gradations for halftones.
Colour graphics also have improved solid fill, colour saturation and density, said Konica Minolta.
Paper capacity is 7,500 sheets from five paper trays.
Air assisted feeding rollers and new dehumidification heaters on each paper tray, as well as a double feed detection mechanism ensure paper feed reliability, it is claimed.
Both paper and toner can be replenished 'on the fly', without the need to stop production on the system.
Bizhub Pro systems are said by the company to be designed to meet the print industry's preferred bleed size for media of SRA3 (320mm x 450mm).
That allows full size A3 documents with trim marks and A4 booklets to be trimmed to size.
The accuracy of the output can be judged by the 0.5mm registration tolerance (per side) for perfecting (duplex) production and sheet-to-sheet.
According to Konica Minolta, the Bizhub Pro C6500e has been designed as a complete document production system with optional on-line print finishing units for six-way folding, (V-fold, letter-fold-out, letter-fold-in, double parallel, Z-fold and gate-fold) booklet making and post inserting.
Automatic trimming means that booklets 50 sheets thick (200 pages) are trimmed to size for a flush edge finish.
The post inserter can be used for pre-printed covers, or to insert sheets at regular intervals.
As the Bizhub Pro C6500e staples and punches at the full rated speed of 3,900 impressions an hour there is no loss of speed for producing finished documents as against sheet production, claimed the company.
The system can print variable data on to pre-printed forms, or print entire documents with variable data with on-line folding.
Data can be sent to the Bizhub Pro C6500e and finished documents collected, with no plate making, no machine preparation and no after-print clean up.
The Bizhub PRO C6500e is available in eight configurations with a mix of finishing options.
For example, if off-line finishing is preferred a configuration with paper stackers can be supplied instead of a booklet maker, or folding unit.
