New Software Manages Integrated Print Processes

Konica Minolta Business Solutions' new Solutions Portfolio is a range of software for the Konica Minolta Bizhub range of document imaging systems.

The Solutions Portfolio includes applications developed by Konica Minolta and a number of systems produced by third party developers, supplied and supported by Konica Minolta.

The portfolio covers the print management process, including origination, workflow, fulfilment and archiving.

As well as covering the spectrum of print management the Solutions Portfolio has been designed to meet the needs of all Konica Minolta customers, from small workgroups to commercial production print, said the company.

To support the Solutions Portfolio Konica Minolta said it has created a professional services and solutions group within the company with 24 staff headed by Mat Stanley.

The new group will ensure Konica Minolta customers receive consultancy on the right systems for their business applications.

Konica Minolta added that it will implement systems and provide continuing customer support for its own and most third party systems that is supplies.

The Solutions Portfolio includes Pagescope, Konica Minolta's suite of integrated software applications and utilities that is claimed to allow businesses to save time, reduce costs and increase productivity.

Pagescope is said to provide networked information flow from the desktop, enabling businesses to manage their Bizhub documents and devices more effectively through a single inter-operative system for increased efficiency.

For Konica Minolta's Bizhub Pro range of print systems the Solutions Portfolio will include the Printgroove suite of modules developed to manage the digital production print process from origination through to fulfilment, management and billing.

The first four Printgroove modules in development include Printgroove POD Serve web submission with real-time status verification, the Printgroove POD Ready make-ready system with automatic and manual imposition and scan document modification, as well as the Printgroove POD Queue print and device management with last-minute job ticket editing.

The modules also feature Printgroove POD Guide workflow and job management with system-wide monitoring and job ticket management through to billing.
