CS Remote Care, a remote monitoring, reporting and diagnostics service for the Bizhub multi-functional imaging systems range, has been introduced by Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK.
CS Remote Care provides a link from the customer's Bizhub system to the Konica Minolta customer service centre via e-mail or GPRS modem The support service is claimed to save time, increase productivity and ensure maximum uptime for Bizhub systems

All Konica Minolta Bizhub systems have a preventative maintenance programme for servicing at set intervals, involving cleaning and replacement of consumable parts, such as rollers, to maintain high output quality.
CS Remote Care informs Konica Minolta when a PM service is due and what parts are required.
In addition to routine servicing the CS Remote Care alert module provides system performance monitoring, adjusting settings constantly to maintain quality levels.
Any problems detected, such as increasing paper misfeeds, are reported by CS Remote Care so that Konica Minolta is aware of potential technical issues before they become apparent to the customer, said the company.
The remote diagnostics used by CS Remote Care can detect possible component failure, request a service engineering visit and advise of the correct replacement parts automatically.
That ensures that minor faults do not result in system failures, increasing machine uptime and extending the operational life of the device.
CS Remote Care is claimed to need no additional software and is secure using GPRS and e-mail security protocol technology to communicate.
Only data from the Bizhub system's operation and control memory is utilised and there is no contact with data in the image memory, image processor, or hard disk.
